Alpha 2 is ready to download
I've removed all contentious items, cut back on file size (down to 21MB) and just used a JoomlaPack archive :)

I could do with a few more testers to see if the problem with the package (probably as it normally is :) is with me or not :)

I've installed that OK locally, the logos across the bottom appear to be missing. The logo's folder is empty
Ta for info.
It works locally for me as well
I took my schools logos out but there is something residual in the artcile that I need to edit :)
Glad it installs OK
Anyone fancy the dridgery of uploading to an ISP and testing it out in the real world? :)

i can help out there if you want.
I have a vps server up and running live if you want me to upload a live alpha for you guys to play with?
@sstar
it's not for playing with at the moment - I just want to know if it uploads and actually installs - Its not suitable to use/play with :)
@DirtySnipe
I was looking for someone to upload to a "real" :) hosting company/LEA webspace - what is a "vps server" BTW :)

Upload and installed: EduGeek
@danIT
Ta very much.
I've sent out a PM to all alpha testers with a copy of a link to a beta version 0.9.
If that seems to work OK then I think we are good to go :)
I've uploaded it to one of those free upload places - please let me know if its OK to use.
If not, I'll PM you a link and look for somewhere else to host the public distribution.

Can anyone post a screenshot of how this is meant to look? I'm not convinced that what I am seeing when I click Dan's link is right. It looks a mess.

If you like to see what it could look like, have a look at St Leonards to see the site it will be based on.
The package will in no way approach the excellent standards of Sysman and aloneBFG but I just want to help out others get started with Joomla as its a reasonable way to get a nice looking site without TOO much effort
