Has anyone tried upgrading their Edugeek site to 1.6?
Gareth
I wouldn't atm, our web dev has been playing with 1.6 today and it completely broke a copy of our main site.
We don't use the Edugeek package, but we will move our live site to a test box next week to test the upgrade first. Don't really want it to break our template or any of the addons we use on our live site.

stick with 1.5.x at the minute, because 1.6 causes a few of the add ons on the edugeek template not to work!
Copying live database to development site now to play! :-)
Have used 1.6 out of the box, but not tried an upgrade, so here goes.
I have just migrated to 1.6 from 1.5.22 using the jupgrade module. I am running the Edugeek template. It seems to have messed up the layout of the site.
Has anyone gone through a manual upgrade process? If so did this go well?
I have looked into the template on the Edugeek Joomla install. Apparently the Axerescheck template only works on Joomla 1.5. I looked into how easy it would be to upgrade it to 1.6. It should be simple-ish if you know how to do it (which I don't really) but some of the config entries in the template files are missing which means you would perhaps needs to manually add the right bits to get it to work under 1.6.
Sorry for the vagueness but it has been a while since I looked into it.
Look here for more info and then check the template.xml to see what I mean:

I am in the process of upgrading it at the moment but it is not as easy as 123 and have to stip it down first as i have put some addons on it but will post back when done.

How did this develop?
I messed around this evening and upgraded my school one after backing up and restoring to my test hosting. It didn't go well. See here:
