Does anyone know of a good news module for Joomla that will let users enter news and then display it similar to this page?
Newyddion :: Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe
Now that the site is nearing launch date, I'm looking for the best way to get news onto the site. Maybe there is something in the package already so if anyone has tips/hints then I'll gladly listen
Cheers

17th March 2010, 08:44 PM #3 I still haven't found any handy news modules for Joomla. I'm considering asking our news posters in school to use Wordpress and then get the commercial Joomla>Wordpress integration module to feed it into my school design.
Has anyone done this?
corePHP - 'corePHP' WordPress Integration for Joomla 1.5 - Joomla! Extensions Directory
or this one maybe:
openWP - Joomla Blogging Options - Alledia

I found out today that they actually use a Wordpress site and have a script that pulls it into their custom made cms.

17th May 2011, 09:01 AM #7 Sorry to Hijack the thread, but how did you get it so you could switch between English and Welsh? Is that a built in feature of Joomla? We are looking to do the same so wondered if there is anything we need to think about before starting. When I breifly tried this before I think the language selection took us back to the homepage. Any advice welcome.

I would say thank you but I didn't do this website. I'm trying to emulate it a little but with our own news pages but am not having much luck.
We are using Wordpress for Joomla from corephp.com - but I cannot find which .css style sheet to use in the template to change things.

HI Penfold
We use a module called Joomfish - which can be downloaded from joomfish.net.
It's not updated much but it works for us.

19th May 2011, 11:25 AM #11 I've now managed to get the Joomfish module working and am in the process of getting my head around it so I can build up a structure for the website but I've got 1 snag I cant find a solution to.
On the home page I cant get rid of "Welcome to the Frontpage" message which keeps appearing. Following the instructions here I have managed to remove it from the english page, but when I click to change the language the message comes back. There is obviously something I've missed here, but I'm reluctant to continue with more content before I understand exactly how the translation pages work.
Any of you guys come across this problem before?
