Default Front page layout - school status slipped

As many of you kind folk will know I have been slowly learning a glimmer about EduGeek joomla and building a site that is now due to go from test to live later this week - SWGfL are in the process of enaabling this. This morning taking a gander at the site I see that School Status and Meet the staff have slipped from where they were placed - at the top right of the Front Page to way down the bottom. Any ideas on what I have done to make this happen and how to get them up to the top again please?

You will need to login to the Administrator Console

Go to Extensions > Modules Manager

Find School Status or Meet the Staff, click on it.

Then on the left. There is a drop down called Order: (just under Position)

The lower the number the higher it will be.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Mike,

I have just looked at that, School Status 1, Meet the Staff 3, not changed from what they were. However, the only thing I can think I have done was editing one of the News Items which comes up on the Front Page - rather than where I want it as a click open from the news Item Box but I don't seem to be able to get it to do that.

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the Front Page Manager where I have Welcome to which correctly displays as the top item but is showing in order as -1 then another 4 items Which are the latest news items numbered 1 to 4. It's like as if these items ar now pushing the School Status and Meet the staff items down below them - all the items on the left of the front page are in the correct place.

I'm a bit confused as to how you have got this setup. Do you have the news items on the left or right?
School Status and Meet the Staff should be modules and the news items would be Articles, therefore they should be seperate.

If you can see School Status and Meet the Staff in Frontpage manager then it means they have been made into Articles.

You can change the order of modules another way by just going to Extensions > Module Manager and changing the order number in this window.

What's the URL of your school website?

    Thanks Mike and Steve,

Yes problem now sorted. Mike looked at the site through web browsers and told me it looked OK - turned out to be just displaying iffy on one of my ICT suite machines.
