    FTPing in joomla using csnewmedia host

    I'm having problems using FTP inside Joomla, when I try to install a template/extenstion I get this error:

    Code:
            * JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
            * JFTP::chmod: Bad response
            * JFTP::store: Bad response
            * Warning! Failed to move file.
    My FTP settings in the config file are as follows

    Code:
            var $ftp_enable = '1';
    	var $ftp_host = '87.239.19.41';
    	var $ftp_port = '21';
    	var $ftp_user = '/*NOT TELLING YOU*/';
    	var $ftp_pass = '/*NOT TELLING YOU*/';
    	var $ftp_root = '/httpdocs/Joomla/';
    I'm able to gain connection using FTP software using the same settings/account and also mkdirs etc.

    Things I have tried so far,
    - Retype U/N & PW
    - change host to all the combinations csnewmedia have recommended on the ticket I opened

    Should it be a FTP path (/httpdocs/Joomla/temp) or a http path (webaddress/Joomla/temp)?

    should be your server path to your temp folder.

    To find the correct path create a file called path.php and enter the following code

    Code:
    <?php
      echo getcwd();
    ?>
    Upload this file to the root of your joomla install and then point your browser to http://path.to.joomla/path.php

    Make a note of the path that is displayed in your browser and enter the value in the location mentioned above.

    Okay that worked sorta.....

    Got this error...
    Code:
            * Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/var/www/vhosts/*NOTTELLING*/httpdocs/Joomla/administrator/components/com_expose"
            * Error Loading ModulesMySQL server has gone away SQL=SELECT id, title, module, position, content, showtitle, control, params FROM jos_modules AS m LEFT JOIN jos_modules_menu AS mm ON mm.moduleid = m.id WHERE m.published = 1 AND m.access <= 2 AND m.client_id = 1 ORDER BY position, ordering
    Why did MySQL run away? Does it not like me anymore

    P.S It did timeout the first time round, could this be it?

    Glad you got it sorted. This sort of problem can happen when you transfer a site from a local test environment to a live server.
