Hi, I have gone through this process about 7 times now each time from a afresh
download the package from edugeek,
upload the package to the site
create a new database and new user with all permissions
run the joomla setup
VERY CAREFULLY entered the password for the admin user
but every time I get a
"Username and password do not match" from the login to the backend
each time I do a reinstall I delete the old database and recreate from scratch + delete the old joomla folder, I am using the cpanel fie uploader to upload the zip file then uncompressing it on site shouldn't be an issue should it? I cant get FTP set up until I get the domain resolved which is why I'm doing it this way.
I have tried a fantastico installation to test, it installs, but wont let me put it in the root of the folder for my domain, it thinks there is an installation already there, (the folder is empty from what I can see in the cpanel file explorer) it completes if I create a sub folder. When I load the front page the images are missing off the website I have a scattering of login boxes/text etc, weird! But at least I can login into the backend. I tried contacting the hosting company but typically they say joomla is not their problem.
Where do I go from here?
