Default Joomla & AD

Hi All,

Anyone got Joomla working with Active Directory, such that permissions for editing and publishing can be assigned according to OU membership.

I would like to have a staff only area on our Joomla site to post content for staff eyes only.

I cant see anyway that the joomla system can assign groups depending on ad ou.

It just auto registers them with the default setting.

Thanks Guys,

I need to replace our old Intranet hopefully with a Staff only area on our Joomla website. What does everyone else do? Do you still have an Intranet site?

Hi

I use Joomla as an Intranet site.

I use it on IIS. I configured IIS make users authenticate. Set NFTS permissions on the site to only allow staff to view. When a staff member tries to access the site it authenticates them transparently. Anyone else it prompts for credentials. That way if you are a member of staff there isn't another prompt for credentials, it just lets you in.

If you do this you will have to make your site an Intranet zone in group policy.

hope this helps
