Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone has 1.5 (stable) version that they can let me have?
We are still using 1.0 (Secure etc..) but would like to setup 1.5 to have a play with..
Thanks
Apparently there were copyright issues with some of the extensions in this package. Although the package was 'legal' for educational use, the download could be accessed by anyone and there was no way of ensuring that it was not being used on non-educational sites. I have read reports that some people were re-selling the package for upwards of £100 even to schools!
so I can still use it for educational use? I have not been able to find an answer to that question.
yes i have it already. so there are no legal implications that could arise if you use it only for education purposes?
I might be doing a website for my former high school/school district and would like to use edu geek.

Whens the joomla example site going to backup and running as we are thinking of going down that route !!
Anyone willing to throw me a zip file? Could use it since I need a theme for our site's internal site that we are putting up.![]()
In the UK it is easy to verify that someone is working in education as their email will be of the form <school>.<local authority>.sch.uk is there a similar scheme elsewhere? This would be a way of supplying a package to education people.

I wouldnt mind a copy of this,
Ive set a few joomla sites up for schools and would like to see how this package works
so if i send an email with a school suffix, i can get a sample?

JFI for those who don't know how to search on a thread
The package has been withdrawn by the author and they haven't posted here for some time.
Sorry
That's the situation

Simon

AFAIK the contentious items that might have caused the take down notice(s) were possibly the JCE Editor with all the trimmings and the Pro version of the slideshow banner module.
But I'm guessing as, AFAIR, aloneBFG never said what the problems were.

Hi,
Have (on and off) been developing a J1.5 website for a school using the Edugeek install/template started by alonebfg (the SYSMK version arrived after I was well underway and I also preferred to use the original eg_xxxx templates).
I have been demoing it and functionally it all works but on making it live, the error.log file on my hosted server seems to be filling up quite a bit (probably because website is now being probed by search engines and other 'bots') - So i have had to take it off-line again.
The problem seems to be some missing items referred to in the template index.php. For most of these I guess I could resovle by removing the offending lines (references to user1, user8 & user9 - which do not actually appear to be used in the template).
My 'starting point' for this project was the 1.5.3 release of the alonebfg version, but I notice here on this thread that the latest version zip was for a 1.5.5. release. Unfortunately, the link is no longer active and I understand alonebfg is probably not around much - so, has anyone got the most recent alonebfg install that I could have a copy of - incase the offending items have already been addressed?
Alternatively, can some one shed some light on some of this particular error messages? :
PHP Notice: Undefined property: JDocumentHTML::$url in <<my_domain>>/templates/eg_green/index.php
Thanks
