Try tuning down / off the level of error reporting on your webserver.
OK i think my problems have been resolved now.
It may have something to do with the fact that the socket file for mysql is in a different location than a default install on OS X server. Instead of the usual /tmp/mysql.sock location it is found under /var/mysql/mysql.sock
Upon changing the mysql sock setting in the default php.ini it corrected the install process but messed up other things. I have since updated to php5 (using the entropy installer) and removed the load module php4.c lines from the httpd.conf files for the webmail service, but then it failed to work causing errors everywhere. I installed mysql version 5 and removed php 5 and now all seems to be ok. Even the Smooth Gallery now shows the screens it should when clicked on as before i was left with a blank screen.
Thanks again for all your help.
Updated Package 1.0.3 available for download here
Code:4-5-07 - Updated joomla.sql file to fix problem with some users getting import error on install.
10-5-07 - Updated template css files to cure height problem with message box.
11-5-07 - Updated joomla.sql file to fix problem with choosing a different table prefix on install.
I don't suppose you have a layed version of the blank header png file for download? I would like to use the same font across the site and don't really want to mess with the css files as i like what is there already.
One more thing, since i ain't no good on these paint apps how do you create the chamfered corners of the rectangles for the smoothgallery. I would like to be able to do the same again to keep with the overall design.
TIA
The font used in the header is Segoe UI
As for round edges I just made a shape in Photoshop and used that as a mask for thi images.
I'll make it available shortly for people to use.
Ok now got a logo up on the site :D and removed all the latin content
Just need to assign peeps to add content to the site now...
@craig
I think if you changed the front page rotating images and got an actual newsletter for the newsletter link you could win the competition for 1st up and running site :)
But someone may pip you at the post :)

Simon
Working on getting those items sorted as soon as i can ;)
**Edit**
Ok that's the rotating banner images changed ;)
Looking good there Craig :D
Ta - just short of a newsletter now!!
Why don't you use a joomla newsletter module like acajoom to create multiple newsletters that the community can subscribe to. the free version of acajoom is more than sufficient for a school. it also keeps an archive of past newsletters that can be viewed
I think we are trying to walk before running :)Quote:

PS@craig
I know I'm old, dim and need glasses but I think you could do with slowing down the banner rotating time as I can't read the popup text fast enough :)
I have just installed the package but I am getting this message,
Template File Not Found! Looking for template:eg_default
Could anyone shed any light as to what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
Stuart
@SimpleSi - have increased to 10 seconds - that any better ;) :P
