Well here is my first live site made with the package. Just waiting on content from staff now...... :D
http://www.simpsonschool.org.uk
I got stuck at the first hurdle getting php to work with IIS, horrible thing.....
:)
Edit: Just had another go and all I get is 403 errors all the time, regardless of how liberal my permissions are set, infuriating
I'm working on a intranet site a the moment using the template, saved a hell of a lot of time. Still got some content to add but its getting there.
Typo SYSMAN: "school erm dates"
Unless they really ain't sure! :P
Cheers mark ;)
I'm getting an error launching the smoothgallery component from the back end. I get "error on line 91" the same as described here: http://www.joomlashack.com/component...,3955.msg21911
As no one else is reporting the problem I guess it must be something to do with my environment - anyone shed any light on it?
There's an orphaned clickable area in the header area that doesn't fit the content now.
For my header (which shouldn't be that different from most) I changed index.php from this:
to this:Code:<div id="headerl">" border="" /></div>
and then the css file from this:Code:<div id="headerl">" border="" /></div>
to this:Code:#headerl{
position: relative;
top: 30px;
left: 26px;
float: left;
text-align: left; /* ie */
Code:#headerl{
position: relative;
top: 5px;
left: 26px;
float: left;
text-align: left; /* ie */
Just a quick update.
Due to lack of time I have yet to add all the little updates to the packages current template, but hopefully this will be done by the end of the week.
Hopefully in the near future I will include some new components, but I need to see how easy it will be for current users to upgrade if this is the case.
Also looking at including a version of the new Rocket Theme demo template to give people some choice.
See below for a quick tease :D
Great to have an alternative SYSMAN. It looks like all the menu layouts are the same so there'd be zero config to implement that new theme? - very nice :)
..and that design being more 'mature' looking (;)) i'm sure would attract secondaries etc.
I've got a test site up at http://www.newtown-hs.powys.sch.uk/website - just need some manaagement blurb - tho' I'm anticipating that they'll want most of the content (from the family handbook) removing! (They're paranoid)
Gotta borrow a digital SLR to take some better photos!
Looking for some quick feedback on the new template. See images attached.
Now includes nice big space for the Smooth Gallery, 10 Module positions, support for transparent pngs in ie6, on the fly colour switcher and 10 colour themes inc high contract versions :D
Cheers@ mark DSLRs rule :D
Great job on those templates SYSMAN! When can we expect these to be available?
Too damn proffessional SM :D
Really impressed by the red one. Black one always wonder about black for business - but then that's just me. Blue Orange is extremely nice too. Graphic/ header pic makes it look more clinical than it is I think.
We don't seem to have much news to report as a school, apart from the monthly newsletter, but the bottom sections could be used as feeds from our sub sites: Moodle; Blogs etc.
Getting subjects used to reporting good things is hard ... we haven't managed it yet but if you look at another local school they try to make sure that the site is regularily updated to 'big up' the school.
Cheers guys. I added the extra bottom modules for schools that would have alot of content and want away of displaying recent stuff. These can be used for anything you like and are collapsible when no content is published in them.
As for the black theme, this can be used as a high contrast theme, covering you for accessibility. this can be accessed on the fly by using the colour switcher ( notice the little coloured squares?)
Which Graphic/ header pic do you mean Mark?
Again if you want to see a particular coloured theme, get your request in soon :D
@deano - Very soon
