How to install?
Hello,
Bit a novice to all this building-a-website-from-scratch lark, so I would really appreciate some help. I have downloaded the Joomla 1.0 script to my webspace via Fantastico and now want to download the Edugeek package. Could someone link me to or run me through how I install all of this please?
Many thanks,
G

Being really ditzy here - where do I upload the first file on CPanel?

do you have FTP setup?
if so upload the whole folder using that.

You can upload files through cPanel but only three at a time I think so as FN-GM says you would be much better to use FTP. Download an FTP client and then simply type in your domain, your username and password and connect. Then it's just a case of transferring files from your computer to the server and it'll be pretty obvious how to do that in the FTP client. Once that is done run the installer. You will need to create a MySQL database through cPanel.
I'd offer to do it for you but you might learn more by doing it yourself.
