Help!
I am really struggling trying to set up drop down menus on the edugeek template. I followed PDF guide that i got on this website that told me to create the main menu with all of the child menu items - I have done this and it all looks correct with the screenshots in the guide. Then it told me to download and install the extended menu module which I have done. I have set it up as instructed, and unpublished the main menu but the menus are not actually dropping down! Have a look:
www.lewisgirlsschool.com/index.php
As you can see the child menu items are showing all the time.
help!
any suggestions?
Oh by the way the guide i followed was "Creating a School website with Joomla" - I am guessing something in the edugeek template set up is slightly different?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
In admin, click on the 'Modules' menu and select 'Site Modules'. Then look for 'Subscribe to our feeds' in the list of modules. (it could be on the second page) Then under the 'Published' coloumn, click on the green tick and it will turn to a red cross. That will un-publish it and it will dissapear from your front page.
Oops, I should read the whole post. Didn't notice you had figured it!

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
Hello again!
Is it possible to add custom styles to the JCE Editor similar to the warn, info, notepad and download styles?? I am looking for a nice way to break up large blocks of text with fancy headings and sub-headings. The above styles are good but I would like to add some more if possible? If so, how do I do it?!!!!
Thanks.

You would need to edit the CSS file to reflect your style, or I suppose add a pre made component.

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
Thanks for that! Found it in the end!
Sorry to keep firing questions around but I'm getting really stuck in now.
I have made a copy of the eg_default template and want to make modifications to this "new" template. However I cannot find all of the references to the template, so when I add new images for example they are not present through the backend unless I also copy them to the original eg_default template folder.
Hmmm... not sure that makes much sense but hey someone may know what i'm banging on about!
Thanks in advance.

@butuz
Haven't tried adding dropdown menus myself to the default template so can't be much help on this. Also the "Creating a School website with Joomla" was taken from Joomlashack before I created the package.
@rusty155
Yes you can add new styles. Take a look at the css files to see the code for the current styles. You could either edit these or create your own.
As for copying the template first make a copy of the template and then give it a new name to be sure. say eg_default to rust_default.
You then need to edit the index.php and template details.xml and change all the references of eg_default to rust_default.
index.php
Look for the following lines: 14 / 18 / 33 / 38 / 97
template details.xml
Look for the following lines: 3
What kind of modifications are you trying to do out of intrest?

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
Thanks for that, I'll get on it!
I'm not doing anything major at the moment - just wanted to mess around with a copy of the default template so that I can easily revert to it if I screw up the template! Also I seem to like doing things the difficult way - helps me learn!
Thanks again for the help.

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
I was hoping it was a simple case of merely uploading the 'Site' folder but it doesn't seem to want to upload. It wants to upload each little bit of the folder at a time. Is this right? If so, where do they all go?

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
My primary school website is currently all written in HTML and hosted on LGFL. JOOMLA looks a million times better and I will be able tp get it to work on my development Apache server running on my pc, but where can I host it if I want to it replace the existing website ? LGFL doesn't support PHP, nor MySQL and we don't have our own webserver. How much should I expect to (gasp) pay ?

BTW 1.5 is a brand new frame work, not just an update to the 1.0.x core.
Is the packge for Joomla 1.0.13 ready yet? If not, can I manually upgrade? or will the site break? Anyone?
I took the chance to update to 1.0.13 from the joomla pack and everything seems fine. So far so good

How about getting the header.psd file for the default template? I know they were forgotten in the original zip and were later uploaded in png form, the png cannot be edited in photoshop

Re: Edugeek Joomla Package Released
How do you make those very clear 660x213 pixel images in the smoothgallery that are on the front page ? I tried stretching some ordinary pics, but they are distorted. What's the secret - a wide angle lens ?
