    Error 403 Forbidden when trying to logon to frontend

    im using the edugeek package.. and everything was fine until i installed JACL to help manage user groups..

    the problem is that when i try and logon as a user to the frontend, i get a 403 error page. i have uninstalled JACL but the problem is still there..

    any help or advice?

    Dont press it then - Only Kidding

    It looks like a permission problem check all your permission. It is possible when you installed it some change where made

    hmm... iv checked all the files that jacl wanted me to modify... and they have write access..

    im not entirely sure.. its hosted on our lea's server..

    im starting to think its start afresh time

    This is a common fault with JACL. Many people who have tried it have had the exact same fault you have.

    I hope you backed up your site before installing JACL because it would seem that a reinstall of Joomla it the only real solution.

    oh no

    no i didnt take a backup...

    might email the lea to see if they take back ups.. if not might restart using joomla 1.5 ..

    thanks for your help..
