Random Images

Hiya, can you please tell me how to add images to the School Photos section on the front page, I've added an image to the Random_Images folder, the size is within that stated in the guidelines, it doesn't appear? Is there something else that I need to do.

Are they in the same format? Did you delete the old images?

Hi, I'm assuming you're talking about the Random Images Module that is by default in the left column on the edu package and not the image display under the banner that slides through and displays text.

Make sure the images are in \images\stories\random_images and that they are jpg's if they aren't then you can set the extension parameters in the module itself. Deleting the old images shouldn't effect how the module works but if they are still there it will still display the old images.

If you're using smooth gallery (which is the slide through images under the main banner) then the image folder by default is images/stories/smoothgallery/ IIRC. And I'm pretty sure you have to set the names of the images in smooth gallery itself, you can set what order they display in. We dont use it on ours but I recall cheating a bit when I was playing with the smooth gallery and naming the images I wanted to use with the same name as the ones that were in as a demo as they were already defined.

Many thanks - I was saving the images as gifs and not jpegs!
