Just trying this app and I have run into a little problem.
It seems to only show student AUP when I log on as a teacher, how do I force the program to show the teacher AUP when a teacher logs on and a Student AUP when a student logs on..
Daft question Im sure will be easy to answer.
Cheers
Can you give me an example of a staff username that doesn't work correctly? And what's your staff identifier set to?
ok
staff are in the saff ou and students are in the students ou
I've left the settings as default
so when staff logon they should get the staff aup and students get the students aup
I've left everything default and add the aup for staff and students in the default aup path.
staff and students get the students aup
do I need to create a group for staff and students and add them to each group?
AUP Informant isn't AD-aware so it won't respect groups or OUs. The staff identifier property in the configuration file is a string that occurs at the start of your staff usernames. For example, in my old school the staff usernames began with "stf" and so that's the prefix I used. The lack of flexibility is a hangover from the fact that the software was designed for just our own network to begin with and it's something I'm working to remedy with the new version.
AUP Informant 2 will make this much easier to set up (and you can specify multiple identifiers at any location in the username). It won't have AD integration either, not at first anyway, but that will be a future feature for sure and should be fairly quick to implement. You might want to give that a spin when it comes out. Sorry for the mix up, should've made it clearer.
ok thats fine you just gave me an idea![]()
