I do like this program but it still doesnt suit our needs yet.
I mentioned this in another thread a while ago - I want the AUP to show up on each logon if someone declines it. It defeats the point of our AUP if someone can decline, be logged off and then once logged on again is free to do what they like. We have nearly 2000 students so dealing with the refusals manually is a job we havent really got time for.
In the next version, can there be an option to not create a file if it is declined? Which would have the effect of making the program show until it was accepted
Pleeeease?

15th January 2009, 02:39 PM #2 Hello Sidewinder
I had the same issue as you. Eventually I editied the source code to get around this issue. I found the instance to create aup.ini when the user pressed declined and changed it so that it created a document called aupdeclined.ini. Thats how it is working for us at the moment.
Having said all that, I know Bissel was looking in to this, and he'll probably pop along soon.
If you want to see my edited version... I can always send it to you to try.
I am still using the 1.0 version however. I had a problem with the 1.6 version which meant that even when the AUP was agreed, the pop up would continue to pop up.

Hello everyone.
It's something that I often get asked about. I definitely plan to have this in version 2.0 and that will now be the next release - no more 1.x versions.
The new version is relatively far along right now, a beta should be ready in February sometime if all goes well. It also does away with the horrible configuration file; the configuration can be edited on the server with a graphical program and the clients will get that over the network automatically.
The current version is far from perfect and my focus for 2.0 is polish, polish, polish. It should be so smooth to deploy that you'll forget you've done it.
The delay is only because I've been getting EduSweep 2 ready and time is always tight - one project seems to take priority for a while and then it all swaps around.
Feel free to contact me at wordpress@paulbeesley.com if you have any questions or suggestions.
Paul

Every project needs a codename! EduSweep builds are gemstones (Ruby and Sapphire so far, 2.2 is Emerald). AUP Informant uses Roman Virtues.
