    Default Exchange 2003 compatibility?

    Hi

    Just been looking at using this software for our Secondary School and ideally would like to use the email notifications. However, we use an internal Exchange 2003 server for email so am wondering if there is any way of using the email notifications?

    Thanks in advance

    John Morris

    Hi John,

    Yes, the software is compatible with Exchange 2003. The only difference between Exchange and other types of mail servers is that the account name you enter must be a valid AD user with permissions to send mail. The username should be in the format username.mydomain and the server address just needs to be the FQDN of the exchange server - mail.mydomain, for example.

    Hope that helps, I should have a PDF manual ready soon!

    So if was to try the following:

    EmailRecipient = A REAL EMAIL ADDRESS
    EmailSender= username.email.local
    MailServer= mailserver.email.local

    (OUR INTERNAL EMAIL DOMAIN IS EMAIL.LOCAL)

    then that should work?

    Spent most of today and just got nowhere with it - if it at least give me an error, then I could try and tackle the problem but nothing. Tried pointing it at our Exchange server, internal SMTP servers which relay mail to our Exchange server, tried IP addresses instead of names, tried lots of different usernames/accounts but not even a sniff of an email
