@Tx2online :
Have you tried rereading or modifying your existing license file from the License administrator on the license server?
Has your license expired? ;) :)
@Tx2online:
Login to the license server itself which has the license dongle plugged into.
Then go to start>all programs>solidworks 2008>solidworks solidnetwork license manager> click on solidnetwork administrator.
Window comes up with several tabbed options you will see the Server administration tab, this is the one you want which will give you the option of rereading or modifying your license key.
Do you have the license key in txt file format it should end with the .lic extension just point it to this and click.
Hope this is of help. ;) :)
I'm now having the same problem with Solidworks 2010. I've installed the license administrator on a server, created an administrative installation set to point to the license server. Installed from the administative image on a few machines and tested it OK.
I originally had a problem where the license server name had to be in the format 27534@server.domain.local, not just 27534@server.
I've just spent a whole day installing throughout the rest of the school, and come in this morning and none of them can obtain a license - not even the ones that could before.
EDIT: I've just found that reinstalling Solidworks on the clients fixes the problem. I haven't changed the administrative install image, though, so I'm not convinced it won't happen again.
how about you reinstall you windows system,then reinstall solidworks .it may you make some hiden file removed.and i find free Solidworks student editions some where
Free (downloadable) student edition of solidworks @ http://www.solidworks.com/sw/4644_ENU_HTML.htm
although there are a lots places you can buy solidworks at low price,and get free tutorials.rom experience, I know Solidworks has some good built-in / online tutorials. If you're an engineering student, or just want to play around with either of these CAD packages this is a great deal.
Thread Revival!
We are still having problems with Running Solidworks. Everytime we try it comes back with the error message;
Could not obtain a license for Solidworks Standard.
Server node is down or not responding. (-96,491,0)
We have found however when we turned off the firewall on the solidworks server, Clients could connect and everything worked fine. Soon as we turned it on again we receive the error message. We have tried hundreds of different exception and ports but none seem to work. Any help would be appreciated!
Nevermind, we have found the ports that needed opening. Took much trial and error narrowing the range from 1000 ports to just 5 but crisis averted :)
I know this is an old post, but does anyone have the correct rules for Windows Firewall with Advanced Security?
I'm trying to enable the firewall on my servers.
I've read Solidworks support documentation (as much as I can find) and I've added the rules to allow incoming and outgoing ports 25734, 3030 and 1433 TCP and UDP; but still the client can't connect to the license server with the firewall on.
Found it by enabling firewall logging on the Solidworks License server. I looked for dropped packets from the client's IP.
It was port 49345 (TCP) - other installations may be different.
