I was wondering what people on here are using for students to create apps in their IT lessons.
To start with, what should i be recommending to the IT teachers?
Thanks

We use MIT App Inventor. Works quite well.
@jstuttard how do you get round the needing of a google account for pupils under 13? Our It teachers are starting to look at it and we've come up against this issue.
We use Google Apps for seducation, but we've turned off a lot of the services.
Looking at supporting this at the moment:

Kodu, GameMaker and Scratch here - not strictly programming I know, but I thought possibly relevant...
Is anyone using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 we are tempted to try that here and using C#.
I was more thinking along the lines of mobile app development rather than coding in visual studio or an alternative.
