We are looking for some Touch typing software suitable for students from year 3-6, that will track the users progress as they use the software so that we can see if they improve over time. We are ideally trying to get most pupils to a certain standard before they leave to secondary school. Any ideas would be appreciated.

14th May 2012, 11:58 AM #2 We have used BusyFingers | Home in the past and the kids enjoyed it. It was a bit of a waste of time though because at other times, teachers let the kids revert to one finger, poor posture etc. I did find a good free one, I'll try and track it down.
Here it is http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/

14th May 2012, 11:59 AM #3 We bought Learn to Type Fast with KAZ Typing Tutor Software for our primary and it worked well for several years.
It has been superceded by BBC - Schools - Dance Mat Typing - Home which the children prefer... only because it looks prettier!

Link: Klava: A Free Online Touch-Typing Speed Tester And Skill Enhancer
I can't vouch for the products as there was no take up here. Nevertheless they might be worth you having a look.
