If you do a google search, there a custom MSI out there for sims called 'mini solus'.
We use it here, it installs the bare essentials to the client to run the sims upgrade routine, then, asuming the logged on user has the simsroot mapped, on first run, it'll pull down everything it needs.
Pretty impressive and a massive timesaver!

ProDesktop just needs a ISScript fix to install correctly irrc, and NetSupport comes with a MSI. Deploy it with the relevent *.ini's and it'll get all the settings it needs and install how you want.

We've just redone our network here, and have a rule that says that if software isnt in MSI format or cant run off a share without client components, that it doesnt get used.
The advantage to that is that clients computers run quite well due to not having everything in them, and they image in under 5 minutes! :-D.
