We only have one mapped here:
net use m: \\server\sme
Ben

sme is the folder that successmaker is installed to here.
cai lives inside that folder.
I suppose it depends on your program shortcuts.
Ben
Yep we map the same as Plexer, but we do hide all the files inside it ;-)
We use the same here m: \\server\sme
Sorry to jump in on the thread but what version of Sybase are you guys running?
We need to upgrade to version 8.0.2 for 2003 server and i was wondering if it's possible to setup Sybase to not run under the system account.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
Make sure that when you deliver the shortcut to SuccessMaker, you do it to x:\ and not \\servername\share - we found here that it only works with drive LETTERS and not UNCs. Funny, huh?!

The shortcuts on my desktosp that run sme run the software from the local machine so the shortcut is to the c:\ drive are you saying it runs from a network folder nick?
Ben
My shortcut shows as
Target
C:\ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Bin\LOGIN.EXE C:\ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Launch.txt
Start in
M:\ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Bin
Thanks for all the help.
Got it all up and working now with no major problems.
Cookie_Monster: Im running version 6.0 of Sybase on my 2k3 server.
Yeh that's what is running on ours as well, apparently there are a few serious flaws with that version and as it runs under the system account it concerns me.
Ive had no major probelms with it for now, so i think i'll stick with it and maybe look at upgrading Sybase over the summer.
That's how mine is set, too. My point about the UNC path was with reference to the Start In location - that must be M: and not \\server\share (at least, that's the case on CC3, I can't comment on "normal" networks).Originally Posted by cookie_monster
