In short, does anyone know if it is possible to buy additional licences for SMART Notebook to use on non-SMART boards?
Our Junior school has a 50/50 split between SMART and RM boards. I would dearly love to give them all SMART boards, but we just don't have the money for it, so I'm wondering if I can at least give them all the same software to use so they can share resources and training.

£540+VAT PER LICENSE!
I think I'll pass.

Disregard licencing; Aquire standard classroom configuration.
~Note: In no way do I condone disregarding licence requirements.~

One SMART Notebook licence obtained with the serial number of one SMART Board interactive whiteboard is sufficient to activate many installations of SMART Notebook without SMART Notebook Math Tools. A good discussion of this is here: Smart Notebook Licence and Activation | The Whiteboard Blog
Another option is SMART Notebook Express, a web-based version of SMART Notebook. It is web-based so anyone with a web-browser & Adobe Flash may use it and no licence is required. For more information see: http://express.smarttech.comhttp://express.smarttech.com

I should add that SMART Notebook collaborative learning software can be used on computers whether or not they are connected to an interactive whiteboard. SMART Product Driver software (which includes SMART Board Service) only works with SMART Board interactive whiteboards.

thanks for link to my blog.
The licence key can be used to activate a large number of Smart Notebook installations. That's true.
But the issue is that the terms of the Smart licence prohibit the software being used on other brands of IWB. But it will work perfectly well, it's just that Smart say you can't do it...
I understand that there will be an option to buy licences for Smart Notebook 11 when that comes out, hopefully at a slightly less insane price as quoted above.
