Successmaker
Does anybody have the problem in successmaker, where the majority of students logging in get as far as requesting a course and the program then just sits and waits and goes nowhere. If Admin logs onto the machine and then goes into SM as a student, the problem doesn't occur. Any ideas as to what permissions etc. we may be missing :?

Re: Successmaker
Is your successmaker running as part of the whole school network, or on a seperate system?
Ours is on a seperate system, and will occasionally have problems if it loses connection to the 'server' and thus can't find the child's records.

Ours is running as part of the network and we do not have these problems you mention. Have you contacted RM about it?

Re: Successmaker
In answer to 'sqdge', it is part of the whole school network.
It answer to Andrew, RM won't talk to us as we don't have a service contract. The price of their service contract would buy alternative software(if we knew of any).
Whether there is a problem with the particular room we are using and there is a certain external piece of software that needs to be added to these machines that we don't know about?

Have you always had this problem, or is it recent? If it's recent, what's changed?
Anything in the event log on the server or the machine?

Its to do with the permisons on the c:drive. I guess the kids have no write access to the c:drive at all?
You need to vreat a couple of GPO exceptions to allow the kids to write to certain folders of the "c:drive
The GPO settings are set a Computer Configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>File System
I am not sure if this is a correct way to do as we are a none RM network as well but it got it working four us and you described the problem as exactly as we had it.
We have domain/everyone modify to the folllowing folders.
%systemdrive%/history
%systemdrive%/localcai
%systemdrive%/resultsmanager
%systemdrive%/student
%systemdrive%/teacher

Re: Successmaker
Thanks all. I've checked the permissions for the specific c: drive folders' permissions and they all appear OK. I'm very confused!
