Picaxe Deployment and usage
Hi. Is there anyone out there who has had the following problem:
I have received Picaxe Programming Editor from Revolution Education. I have successfully taken the .msi and appropriate files from the CD and deployed it over the network using GPO. The software installs perfectly and works fine as long as i log into a computer as an administrator, but my problem arises when a student logs on to a PC. Because of policies, students do not have access to the 'c' drive. Picaxe needs to access the windows/system32 folder to get to an OCX file and a DLL file which of course it can't do as a student. I do not want to open access to the 'c' drive for students.

Software is usally able to access drives fine you're just hiding them from students otherwise nothing would run.

Hi Plexer, in theory that's true. But not this software. It refuses to run as a student. I'll have to dig a bit deeper

Sorry, no help directly but they do have a forum which they monitor and generally respond to problems quite quickly.
