    live@edu problems?

Not sure if this is the right forum!

I've enrolled for Outlook and now I am trying to find where I can create or edit a sign on page

According to the liva@edu guide, I should be able to customize the sign on page here: liveprob.jpg

But there is no 'Sign On Page' listed under the Service section

Is anyone else using live@edu who can confirm if I am missing anything?

Also, what is the correct domain to point to for Web Acces, I thought that it was www.outlook.com, but when I create a 'mail' CNAME with a value of www.outlook.com, all I get is a security certificate error, and then no one can log in - It doesn't happen with things pointed to go.domains.live.com!

    Cheers, Ben

Service Management Portal -> Co-branding (select in menu on left) -> Windows Live Admin Centre (link at end of first paragraph in the middle).

when I create a 'mail' CNAME with a value of www.outlook.com, all I get is a security certificate error,
Yes. If you access it via a CNAME you will get a cert error i.e. the cert isn't for mail.what.ever.it.is.

The only relevant CNAME I'm aware of is the random-ish one you make to prove you control the DNS for your domain.

You can't customise the Windows Live login screen through Live@Edu, something that I feel should be there but MS don't provide

I have found a way to do it using a service some of MS support don't even seem to know about but not sure how much longer it's being kept up, try the steps in my guide here...

This is our custom login screen in action...

    Welcome to Windows Live

There's an SSO kit that runs on an IIS box where you can customise the sign-in but generally only works internally as far as I know, although look up SADA systems on YouTube and they have it running externally as well as a hosted solution.

Thanks for the replies - I thought I may be able to get away with the CNAME method to get us to outlook.com, even though it is not customized

    GShaw - that's a great find - thanks!

Will be interesting to see if you're able to set up the customised page. On the site there's two options, customise sign in and customise registration. The registration flow is being deprecated and can't be enabled for new users but I think the sign-in still can, let me know how you get on

I should be able to customize the sign on page here:
Ooops - misinterpreted what you were getting at there, sorry.
