    Hodder and flash

Hi all we have been using hodder stuff for ages now but when we recently updated our flash players we can't navigate around them, hodder say it is a flash problem and point me toward the flash settings manager(online) which is a real pain and very confusing for teachers/students to do each time they want to launch some flash enabled educational software, does anyone have any experiences they can share. (incendentally the students still manage to get accesst to all the games created online in flash, but i guess they were made in later versions)

    Re: Hodder and flash

Is flash content not appearing? With the introduction of the last version of flash anything run from the local computer has to been enabled in the security settings of flash. This is done per machine The way to get round this is to serve the content from a simple website. I have some geography programs running of simple IIS web sites to get round this.

Hi chrish the content is there it just won't let you navigate properly. when you say security settings on the local machine are you saying that i need to goto the settings manager online on each machine?(as i suspected) or is there another way?
Incidentally the software is served centrally all be it not through IIS, the software is simply installed on the application server and shared out.I think i will try it your way and see what happens.

You can deliver the following file %systemroot%system32\macromed\flash\FlashPlayerTru st\local.cfg as a text file with just C:\ in. This seems to disable the security setting introduced for content launched off the HDD.
