Oh, anyone using successmaker? i spoke to their dev team a few months back (at pearson) and they are looking into a cross platform capable solution, if this actually appears is a different matter.

Successmaker at Pearson? Am I getting confused, or did RM not produce Suckcessmaker (on a license from CCC)?
We use it here on standalone machines, although it's an older version and I had to hack file permissions quite a bit to get it to run on a couple of XP machines.
And welcome to Edugeek.

Re: (Education) Software List
pearson own successmaker and license rm to resell, modify and support it here in the uk.
the success maker enterprise version 1 included a batchfile under ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Tools\XP which when run just had cacls commands in it to ensure security setting were right. the below command was very similar to what was in it. anyone running SME 1 could attach that batch file to help you in future. unfortunatly im using version 1.3 for one of my windows 2003 server, and it no longer has this issue as the installer deals with the permissions.
also, java had similar problems here for students, who couldn't access
c:\windows\.file_store_32 a temp cache location for java.
so you just need to run
cacls c:\windows\.file_store_32 /t /g builtin\users:f
to solve that one.
