22nd February 2010, 12:25 PM #2 Couple of things we had problems with when we first rolled out CS4;
1) Premiere doesnt like UNC paths so in our case, my documents is redirected to home drive means the file path is \\servername\xxxxx\yyyyy\zzzzzz etc, Premiere doesnt like this. We have to remind people to use the mapped H drive as that simply directs to H:\filename
2) We have noticed a large improvement in performance based on 1gb switches not 100mb. We also noted some difference in performance when tracing back right to the server which the media is located on and clearing any bottlenecks.
Just a couple of things to think about.
We also have had problems with file formats which we have more or less worked around now.
Dont know if the above will help, as i said they are issues we noticed and resolved so fingers crossed for you
