Disk space on the server is relatively freely available, but it would take an absolute age to run the MSI out to the PCs if it also included the 500MB Gallery images. Plus, it allows for easy updating as I only need to change what is on the server, and everyone gets it. Obviously, this wouldn't suit laptop users, but we're all desktop here.

Agreed, centralised management is alot easier.

I'll have a look for the latest toolkit. EDIT: That is the latest toolkit with it's associated MSI's i think.

The MSI's aren't up there yet.

    They are now.

I'm still waiting for the updated Response installer. Patiently though.

Hi all, just to confirm these are now the latest Notebook 10.6 MSIs live on the previous link. The listed Installation Manager will configure these and publish with a MST for the settings you make in the manager.

The SMART Response MSIs should follow in a day or so. This was the case with the Response setup wrapper, it followed a day or two after the Notebook 10.6 setup wrapper.

Thanks for your patience Steve et al

    James

The standalone installer for the SMART Response system. I believe it's called a wrapper because it wraps Notebook, Response and the Driver package all into one exe.

Are they shareable? By this, I mean, can you actually edit the path to the gallery etc and also the licence key after you've done the package?

To be honest it's really simple to do. Urm,

    Make a folder,
    Put the MSI in there,
Create an MST using the admin tool (i cannot share ours - it's really simple to do using the admin tool),
Put the corrisponting ini file in the folder.

Do the same thing for the drivers/notebook.

Other than this the MSI are the ones direct from SMART so no need for me to re-share, and the admin tool is simple to use to make the MST's for your site.

Attached are the .ini config files, you will need to change the file names in them.

Just made me wonder as James said he wanted to be able to share the package amongst schools. If there's no way to edit the key and config once it's created, that seems pretty impossible to do.

To be fair i don't think it could be made easier. The package (MSI) is shareable, but the MST's should be created at each site, as each one will be different. I haven't changed the package - that's what the MST is for.

From what I understood he wanted to just be able to say "Here you go, import this" but as you say, it's not going to be possible to do.

Okay, so I've added that .ini file. In the RMMC it still doesn't show the MST for the package.

Edit: I've assigned it and it's not put the MST out there.
