Specifically the enterprise edition.
Yes, it has its 'issues', and Im not a massive fan myself but this for once isnt to do with problems it causes.
If you switch off/disconnect/stop the database on the PCE server, should client interent access be affected in any way?
I'd instantly say no, but we had an incident a while ago where I was doing something or other to it, and as soon as I stopped the SQL server instance, no-one could get on the net.
I now need to migrate the server to a new one, I have some pretty detailed instructions for this from Forensic, but I'm just worried about uninstalling it from the old one. Dont mind missing out on captures for a few days till clients are redirected, just as long as they work!
Should probably leave till the Xmas hols, but I want rid of the bulky old server it resides on ASAP.

18th November 2009, 06:34 PM #2 If you're moving it onto another server you can build it up in advance and just transfer the data at the last minute.
I use this method currently to back up our live and 'standby' box.
If you need any advice drop me a pm.
