Anybody got free countdown timer?
I've just had a call from a teacher who needs to be able to put some kind of countdown timer in a PPT file, so she can show it on her whiteboard allowing the kids to see how long they have left to do a certain task.
Anybody seen something like this?

Do you use Smartboards? There is one in their Gallery pack which is pretty awesome. Doesn't export into .ppt but it does sit in their notebook software.

A couple of the teachers at one of my schools use Cool Timer. The Hat from the same place is also useful.

You could always use a video clip from Countdown off YouTube, or even film your own version.

Must have been misunderstood. I didn't want a 'Countdown' clip, but rather a countdown clock that can be changed to however many minutes the teacher wants to set.

+1 for Cool Timer - when I was a teacher I used this all the time.

E.ggTimer.com is simple and clear. Just add the time you want to the url and hit return.

Promethean activstudio has this functionality already built into it, dead easy for the teacher to use.

God, how I would like to comment......
dead easy for the teacher to use.

Yeah, we use Promethean boards in MFL purely for the ActivStudio software, but these are the only Promethean boards we use (which on a different note I am glad of!). The SmartBoard software has this functionality built in too, but the teacher specifically needs it to work in a PowerPoint.

Hate Promethean gear - had nothing but trouble at my last school. Never have a problem with SmartBoards, but we got good kids
