Hello everyone!
Basically I left my school job and worked for a company repairing laptops and stuff under warranty (Lanway). I left there a couple of months ago and have gone self employed running a coffee van... I dund the website - Urban Coffee Co.
ANYWHO! I am also helping a primary school every couple of weeks with ICT issues... I have a problem and I don't know how to fix it.
There is a computer running Vista Business, it is on a peer to peer network, pretty simple stuff. I have installed ActivPrimary 3 but it will not start up... it just hangs on the screen with the pen. ActivPrimary 2 is installed on the machine and works fine. I have downloaded and installed the latest versions of the board driver and the software (3.7) but still hangs.
I don't really want to uninstall Activprimary 2 just incase it doesn't help and they are left with no software.... well actually I could probably download it couldn't I?
Would uninstalling ActivPrimary 2 help do you think??
Thanks in advance peeps!
Joanne

15th October 2009, 04:39 PM #4 Go to the folder where the executable for ActivPrimary is located (ie C:\Program Files\Activ Software\Activprimary3) and you will notice there is one called "ActivPrimary3.5.exe" and one called "ActivPrimary3.5D.exe" (note the "D" on the end of the second one) this is the debug run of the program, double click it to execute and you will notice that you see a notepad style window that logs everything that is happening as ActivPrimary starts up - this will show us where the program is hanging - post the screenshot on here and we should be able to advise further.

15th October 2009, 08:03 PM #13 Welcome back from me too
I've had terrible problems with older Promethean software in the past, but v3.7 is pretty good, although I run it on XP.
Does the software hang when connected to a whiteboard? And have you tried disconnecting all peripherals - mice, printers or anything along these lines.

I had to create an ini file when I installed version 2 I think the info is in the help files.

15th October 2009, 10:17 PM #15 If you have a valid license for activ primary 3, download activ inspire. This has both the studio and activ primary 3 and you can switch between them as you want (requires restart of app though).
