Cachepilot, knowledgeox and espresso
Right Here we go ....
we have eqiinet cachepilot provided by CLEO. it had espresso and knowledge box content installed on it. Then we had an upgrade to a new Network Edge Device (NED) which had the espresso content installed on it. As our county support team don't support knowledgebox they reconfigured the cache IP to .252, deleted espresso from the cache pilot (by deleting the espresso user), and left the equiinet cache pilot in our capable hands. However since then we have not been able to access knowledge box using the updated URL HTTP://*.*.*.252:9000 which is exactly as it was before.
we ave been given admin rights to the pilot, however we can't seem to get anything usefull regarding content etc.. or port checks etc...
unfortunatlly our support with knowledgebox has ended and they can't help. They have confirmed that we should still be able to access the content which was originally purchased, so I should be able to connect. and the content is still live!
Keeping up?
So does anyone have a idea how to get the connection back?

Does it reply to a ping?
What happens if you try without the port? i.e. http://10.150.121.254
If I remember correctly you can connect a vga monitor and a ps/2 keyboard into the rear of the server to access the admin pages.

without the port 9000 you get the web interface for the cache pilot controls.
with the vga & keyboard you get a black and white dos/lynux type version of the web interface with no additional control.

10th July 2009, 09:40 AM #6 You need to add 10.* under proxy exceptions within IE.
Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced. I'd also recommend you try rebooting the Knowledgebox and see if this helps.

despite haveing the exception 10.* I still can't connect. the automatic IE fault diagnosis says the cachepilot it not accepting the connection. presumably a security/user isssue.
