    ActivStudio2 PE

Has anyone else had issues with ActivStudio2 PE on laptops? we've got several Ensis-S machines and this runs like a dog on them. Installing ActivStudio 1 and the software runs normally again.

Last time I checked there was nothing mentioned on the promethean site about this.

Has anyone else seen/received an ActivWand? looks like something out of Harry Potter but several people found it easier to use than a pen plus the end of it is a lot more robust than a pens nib.

I have had the wand waved at me. I was expecting it to be much less cool-looking! It looks more Star Wars than Harry Potter to me.

How much do they cost in small quantities?

I can't see any mention of it on the promethean website but they sent me one FOC with a letter saying they were £40 for any more.

Was any prompting required for that? Or did they just send you one? We have exclusively Promethean (well... apart from one "Clever" board that we got cheap) but they haven't sent me one

I'll dig out the letter and post what it said but there was no prompting from me one just turned up in the post one day thats not to say that every promethean customer will get one but we'd just had some installs.

    Ben

We have found that some of the Antivirus software on workstation/servers read one file in a very weird and slow way. The file in question is the settings.ini. We are hoping to have a new release out in the next 2-3 weeks that will actually copy this file to the local temp folder first before reading it, and copying it back once the program closes. It has seemed to speed things up quite a lot.

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for that good to know I'm not alone I just hadn't had the time to speak to promethean directly.

    Thanks,

    Re: ActivStudio2 PE

There are similar files in SIMs that grind things to an almost halt due to AV software. We are advised to add them to SAVs exclusion list in our LA - maybe something similar in this case would help?

Since you are there, Dan, can you confirm that Promethean customers will get one free wand if they ask? We have 11 boards
