Also look at Writely (an online AJAX wordprocessor).

Yep, I'm pretty impressed with Google Spreadsheet as well. If only RM made something like this for the damn QCA testing malarky.

to be fare rm havnt got googles server farm so rm couldnt run something like this
when qca provide rm with money to do this
" * 719 racks
* 63,272 machines
* 126,544 CPUs
* 253 THz of processing power
* 126,544 GB (approx. 123.58 TB) of RAM
* 5,062 TB (approx. 4.77 PB) of hard drive space"
Which was est of the google server farm in 2004........

Hmm.. but Google server the whole world and QCA a bunch of UK schools. Still, even then - the DPS communicates with the local APS so I wouldn't have thought it'd be more technically difficult to run a web-based AJAXed interface.
Also google runs on Linux, which gives them a slightly unfair advantage over RM.![]()
With google's email for schools then an online office suite which will presumably come in a box that sita on your network... they're set to take over the world!

while going off topic web would nerver work due to amount of data transfer to network slow now imagine what would be like with web front. Main thing being that in google spreadsheet only need to record what has changed and keep last few data transfers qca have got to keep lot.Originally Posted by webman
