Default Solid Works 2008

Anyone experienced in doing the server install of this product?

I've tried to follow the instructions (very vague) but the existing workstations don't auto update or anything and if i try and do a manual install it takes forever and then fails as some Solid Works components don't install.

Any practical experience/advice would be most welcome.
