Yes I use Clickview, what's the problem?
We looked at it 2 years ago at BETT. For what it does we thought it was overpriced.
I use it a lot. Could actually prove to be the application that moves the PC to a teaching tool rather than a typewriter (in many instances).
We are having a few issues, particularly in relation to adding/configuring library manager boxes. (We may fix that this morning, that's the plan anyway!)
It does require work to add your own material, and that needs to be someone who will concentrate and not be distracted by marking, ie a teacher may not be best placed to do it.
Happy to pontificate further if you have detailed questions...
I know of a few places that use this. whats the issue?
We use Clickview, rather good really. Teachers like it.
I'm discovering that Vista and CV don't get on particularly well...![]()
There's no issue. We are thinking about installing it as a lot of teachers are asking for TV progs to be recorded, as well as our already large library od DVD's and AVI files. Was just after opinions, if it delivered what it says, if there was other software/services out there that did the same, value for money etc.
From what I know I think that Teachers.tv is the only thing that comes close, although you don't get the extras such as lesson planning.
I'd appreciate it if Andrew C (or other ClickView users) describe how they use it in their classrooms.

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, we are looking at clickview too. How does the pricing work?
Hi,
The price details are here:
ClickView - the digital video solution for schools
ZeroHour (5th November 2008)
Ooohh, I'd forgotten about australiana's question. To be honest, I'm not really sure how the teachers use the material. We have a library of 1500 tapes that I have digitized (where licensed) and all new recordings off air are getting saved into our own folder. This is alongside the material supplied with the package. I do know that CDT are using some of the included material.
Pricing is out of my jurisdiction, but a couple of grand a year comes to mind. Edit- Sorry, that is for the 24-7 box.

Clickview is good but over priced IMO. We are looking at scaling up a MythTV solution.
