It has to have the steiberg key aka dongle plugged into the machine to work.
We secure ours internally to the chassis.

Is there any way to solve the profile Application Data problem with Cubase? It keeps asking me to register...
PM member ahuxham, he has a wonderful script for making cubase work
/me hides.
Anyways - Cubase is a lovely kettle of fish. It does however save all its settings within Application Data, this allows for you to log in, set it all up, copy the Steinberg folder out, stick it on the network, than start the program with a batch file to first copy to %appdata%, that way its always setup pre-loading.
Code:@echo OFF xcopy "\\server\share\Cubase\Steinberg\*" "%appdata%\Steinberg\" /e /h /c /i /y /r Start "" "c:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase Studio 4\Cubase Studio 4.exe" :end
We have it working fine here. There were some cracks and pops during recording at first which we solved by changing th buffer size, and of course the dongles going missing - which we now safely secure inside the machine - so they're can't be taken.
Resurecting a bit of an old thread here but....
Halion One, and its sound banks - we have installed these onto our shared area, and pointed Cubase at it (this was done when Halion One was installed by changing the path). Now - for the user when they first open Halion, it correctly finds the sound banks. They log off - go on another computer and then the banks list is empty. The drive is still mapped the same. We use Roaming Profiles.
Any ideas??
