    Angry Installing/Running DLK Mathswork

I usually don't give up this easy but this is REALLY starting to annoy me now!

DLK Mathswork is some kind of VB (v5!) app written whilst Noah lived on his arc. The problem is that he never envisaged 32-bit computers

You can supposedly run the app straight out of a share, sticking a handful of libraries in that share to make it work. This works fine for administrators but the mere mortals (i.e. kids/teachers) receive an error message saying that MCI32.OCX is not correctly registered, missing or invalid. So I installed all the libraries locally to the system32 folder. Still the message is received.

I have tried option two which involves installing everything to the local machine using the stoopid installer that asks you to click a button and greys them all out... I outwitted this and continued. All seemed fine until I tried to run it as a mortal and I received even more error messages!!!

I have also tried installing it using Citrix Installation Manager Packager (the silliest sounding program name ever!) which is incerdibly good at recording installations and has never failed me before. You can probably guess that this didn't work either

    Please help!!!

Try installing Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0 Fixed a similar problem I had with an old program a while back.

We have it working here - I only inherited this so don't know the ins and outs but we copy the following files to c:\windows\system

    CP4DLL32.DLL
    CP5DEVT.LIC
    CP5DLL32.DLL
    CPOCX32.oca
    Cp5OCX32.OCX
    CW3215.DLL
    OMNI2UI.DLL

We then just copy the programs to c:\legacy\dlkmathswork and point the shortcuts there...
Some of those files may have nothing to do with DLK but are needed as similar fixes for other things... as I said I only inherited this, but it does work in getting DLK mathswork to run...

Yeah, had the same problem and had to copy the files from the system folder on the DLK disk to the local machine. Worked fine, but a pain to setup.

I finally seem to have sorted this!

For some reason, after installing it here there and everywhere, trying this and that. I tried copying the files again and now it works. I have added a line to my startup script to install the system files at boot time. Hopefully I will never hear about this again!

    Code:
    if not exist c:\dlk.log xcopy /V /C /Y "\\svr1\software\Apps\Mathswork_Inst\sysfiles\*.*" c:\windows\system32\ > c:\dlk.log
