Rep Power: 0 | ChrisH I sat down this afternoon and tried your method but have still got something wrong. I downloaded Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard and used it to wrap the exe's with the silent switch /r that didn't work so I looked around the web and on appdeploy I found the switch /s/sms that didn't work. Now I know i am missing something very simple but for the life of me I can't see what to do. Or are you using 7zip to zip the exe's and then wrapping them? with the /r switch :? |

Rep Power: 19 | No its an installshield file so you first need to use /r to create itself an aswerfile. You can then stick this next to the setup file and use the /s option. I will do a guide soon |

Rep Power: 19 | Here is a flash file showing how to extract dreamweaver and create the installshield silent install. After that you can use the MSI wrapper wizard or use a batch file etc etc. I have added the link to the wiki as well. http://www.cphsolutionsuk.plus.com/h...ilentSetup.htm |

Rep Power: 0 | ChrisH I would just like to say a big thankyou I have just finished a 7zip silent installer and all went well. I will now try wrapping it into a msi and roll it out through GPO. I never realised how to create an answer file for install shield installs and I think you have probably helped more people on this site than just me. Thanks very much |

Rep Power: 0 | ChrisH I would like to reopen this post, with another question that is on the same lines so I will continue here. I have the silent installers runnining as part of my RIS install from the RunOnceEx all works fine apart from my Autoit script to open and close flash, my reg file is not imported till later on so flash at the point I call it is still not registered. I know the obvious answer is to import the reg file earlier in the process, but I would just like to see how you and other members achieve this. |

Rep Power: 19 | You have answered your own question Code: Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
RegKey = "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Flash\7\Registration\"
WSHShell.RegWrite regkey & "Serial Number", "your-key-here", "REG_SZ"

Rep Power: 0 | Is it me or is it impossible to add to the wiki? I can't find a way to register after clicking the login/register link. Is the registration process closed or something? I have recently been put in charge of software deployment at a school containing roughly 700-800 PC's and am currently battling through a horde of funtastic educational software installers! Let me contribute! |

Rep Power: 28 | There was a shed load of problems with the wiki being spammed to heck n' back so they locked it down some.. If you try emailing via the contact form someone will surely pass it on so you can get access. |
