SEN software Penfriend problem running on limeted user account
Our SEN dept have purchased a piece of software called Penfriend. I have installed this as admin and it runs fine. When a pupil logs on with restriction it will not run. I changed permissions on the c:\program files\penfriend folder to students 'modify' for testing and it still does not run. In our environment students have no access to the c:\ drive at all.
The error is:
Error 1796 : No valid source can be found for the product Penfriend Xp. Windows installer cannot continue.
Followed by another pop up box with the error 'Fatal error during installation'
Pupils have a mandatory profile (not sure if this is the problem) and it works fine for administrator.
Any ideas?

Try this link
http://www.penfriend.biz/support/faq...min-only.shtml
We use that here on a laptop and I remember having problems when installing it. Unfortunately it was a while ago and I cant remember how I solved it. I think I did follow the instructions and copied the files locally and installed it from there. It works now but I cant get my hands on the laptop which was used.
Might not be much use sorry
