Thats great idea, the only problem with this is that if your teacher links to grid club resources say for instance within Moodle VLE, then when students come to the resources they will be asked for the password.
Looks like on login you collect a cookie....

For more information regarding a seamless sign in go to http://www.gridclub.com/seamless_signin.pdf
When users sign in a cookie remembering their details is left on their machine.
GridClub can be and is hosted on several VLEs.
