KODU any information on this please

Our ICT teacher has asked me to set up Kodu | Home in her classroom. This is a new one to me anything I need to know about it before ploughing ahead. My immediate concerns are how big are the files generated going to be does it use IP addresses and just generally are there any reasons not to be using it. Thanks in advance.

I have used it on an RM network and didn't have any trouble with it. I seem to remember disabling the auto update in the MSI took a bit of figuring out. One of the good parts is if you get your hands on some cheap wired Xbox 360 controllers you can use them to play the Kodu games. I remember the testing phase took a long time on that one, mainly because I kept playing all the games!

IP addresses in relation to what? It's just a simulator in that sense, running locally on the pc.

Files aren't huge as it's just reference to stuff within the program, it's not exported exe's etc.

It is however slow and thirsty... a core i5 with 4gb of ram runs smoothly, anything les and it's laggy as you like. our core2duo 2gb machines take minutes to start it and changing screens takes seconds. We've abandoned it as most of the kids found it boring. They all want to make flash games where they can kill stuff.

There's a couple of shiny graphics settings you'll want to disable if you want >20fps on integrated graphics - depth of field and bloom iirc, something like that. With them off you can run it at Full HD on integrated Intel graphics (i3-2120, even i3-550) at a steady 30fps+ without issue.
