Default Codec Pack msi

Does anyone know of a free codec pack that comes as an msi? The powers that be will not allow me to install VLC media player onto the curriculum machines as it is not Microsoft I know I can get codec packs easily enough but I don't want to have to install it manually.

I used WinINSTALL LE http://www.softpile.com/Utilities/Mi...745_index.html to package up a ffdshow pack which seems to work nicely. No problems with the packaging.

Many of the popular codec packs do support a silent install. Not seen many as a native MSI but there is nothing stopping you using the silent switch in conjusction the Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard. Mine install at fist boot after RIS.

That's such typical out of date school thinking, the lowly "technician" needs and eye keeping on them. Most schools now employ "professional" IT staff and they should be treated as such.

I know what you are saying because I have been doing this jobs since 1999 and still get treated like I know nothing about the job I do. To be honest it wasn't so bad when I was working in secondary schools but with primary schools its becoming a joke.

I was in the same boat till word got out that i have a second job part time updating/upgrading a computer network for my grandads electrical company. Based in london and turns over millions.

Its a sad story though when people dont respect one another.
