    Class DOJO

Ok, so has anyone ever hear of it or used it here in the UK??? It (Class Dojo) appears to be a free (if there is such a thing) bit of software that can help you in the classroom monitor behavior.

I'm not a massive fan of "Let's use it cause it's free" so would really value feed back on this software, and if anyone else has noticed a trend toward free software rather than bought in and managed solutions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The teachers in our school use it within class to manage behavior. It is used along with table point/house point system but for the individual child. It has its own iPad app now which is nice for when teachers are out of the classroom and still want to have some reward scheme with them immediately.

It does have some limitations in that you cannot move children between classes for things like setting groups.

We are a primary school and its used from KS1 to the end of KS2. Its quite visual with lots of bright colours for the children avatars and loud positive and negative noises for when the child is praised or disciplined. It works really well with the younger children because of this.

I'm not sure how well this would work with older children in secondary however. In the end its the same as wall charts we had when I was in primary school with ticks and crosses on that has a much bigger impact because of the noise and how visual it is.
