Looks like the document got corrupted at save time. I sometimes see trouble like this when stuff is done at home with works but never like that over a picture.
Its that top layer of text that has become corrupt if you run it through a doc recovery program you get everything but that.

any suggestions
russ
I doesnt look like you can save the text but you can get the rest of it. The program I tried was a trial so couldnt save the result.
I just dumped this into WordPad and changed the font. Worked for some reason.
This is in Office Word 2003.
I've seen this before, but im having trouble saving the text.
What i think is happening is that the encoding of the text was in something other than western. Then the font has been changed and it isn't matching up with the character map of the wester fonts on the system (if that makes sense).
If you select all the text and change the font to "Symbol" it kind of makes sense, i can see the following sentences:
"I looked in the window of the bakery..."
"I wanted to taste the..."
Dammit ninjabeaver, you just beat me to that!
I got that far as well Indie just some bits didnt make sense![]()

thank you all

Joking. It was a fluke. I just tried to change the font and see what happened, while I was looking for my recovery software.

I once turned half a classes files to little squares by rebooting a switch as their work was saved :s
OpenOffice.org 2 loads the document fine btw.![]()
Opens fine in textedit (mac) too, tho it is using cryllic encoding. Pages reports the font missing is called "Estelle Black SF"
Im guessing she has managed to change word to using a cryllic layout instead of the norm.
