Is that the going rate for a Senior Techie in UK?

Its towards the lower end :)
And without starting any sort of pay war off and with good humour - I wouldn't fancy a job as a Junior Tech there :)

whats the reasoning behind the saying you wouldn't want to work there?

Mind you looking at the job spec and person spec, they want a network manager not a senior ICT assistant!

If they paid £6000 more per year it would be worth my while applying, but on that pay advertised I would be paying well over half the monthly wage just to get there!

Morning all,

I've worked at The Warwick for just under 7 years, I'm now moving on to bigger and better and they've had a shuffle around of jobs.
I have to say that working at The Warwick is a great experience and I would reccomend applying to anyone. The staff are very friendly and sociable and it is a great place to work. Deciding to leave was a very hard decision to make.

I admit the money isn't great but in this climate surely it's worth applying to gain experience alone?
I've spoken with the ICT Manager about the post and he says that it's more an experienced ICT Assistant (2 years experience) that he is looking for which explains the payscale.

It probably is, those 28 days can also include bank holidays, so whilst the job may only be 24 days, if they get public holidays in addition then that's all above board.
