Once you get established, and business is looking good, turn to something like "Buy With Confidence" from Trading Standards, or maybe "Check-a-trade". A friend of mine was in the former, and his business really took off once he was able to use the logo etc. He does very well from business to business work being part of the scheme and it's not just plumbers and builders who are members either, there's a broad range of trades who require expert IT consultancy.
If I was too continue my normal job through the week, but offer IT services on a weekend, would I just register as a sole trader or register as self employed?
