Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
Skills in order
1. Linux Red Hat/CentOS 4 and 5
2. Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange 2003/2007, Active Domain, XP Professional
3. Configuring DHCP, DNS, LDAP, iptables, routing, MySQL, Apache
4. Programming PHP, Perl, Bash (including sed and awk)
5. Communication - Ability to clearly document work and projects and to write according to a target audience. Express complex IT issues in a simpler form.
6. Time and Project Management To work independently and be self motivated
7. VMware ESX 3 and ESXi 3, Server 1 or 2, Workstation 5,6
Qualifications in order
1. At least 10 years experience in IT, at least 5 in Linux
2. RHCE
3. ITIL Foundation
4. PRINCE2 Foundation,
Salary: Upto £45,000 per annum + healthcare + pension + life insurance + share options + bonus
General Description
Senior IT professional responsible for the project management, prototyping and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement new systems (e.g. virtualisation, Exchange, versioning systems)
Manage the administration of the companys infrastructure (e.g. routers, switches)
Work with project teams to implement internal systems (e.g. document management, customer relationship management, accounting packages)
Respond to escalated helpdesk issues
Manage and troubleshoot, systems backups, archiving and disaster recovery
Administration and maintenance of asset tracking software
Ensure that company assets are maintained responsibly
Manage software licences on a company-wide basis
Authority:
To implement policies and decisions agreed with the IT manager
Working Relationships:
IT Manager and IT Administrators
Other functions as appropriate
